Here is a great paper where researchers evaluated oral facial and jaw pain after a car crash and made important findings. Some of these findings are how even after two years the pain did not just go away many insurance companies may suggest. They also found that jaw pain is present approximately 10% of the time after crash and many factors are associated with jaw pain. However, up to 50% of patients after a crash had jaw pain. This paper also found that patients with higher neck intensity levels also had more jaw pain.
