Here is some great information that shows what happens to the cervical spine during a whiplash rear end impact starting at only 2 gs. Notice how the authors do NOT say "soft tissue" but describe what soft tissue was damages such as the facet capsule and vertebral artery. The authors also show that the tested impact causes the neck to take a non physiologic "s-shape" to occur. I use information like this on this site to educate myself, our patients, and our community.
