Here is a study that suggests patients complaining of pain after a car crash have a 3 FOLD increase of pain 7 years after those who do not complain of pain. This is important to understand when discussing with our patients why they may have chronic pain as well as explaining to insurance companies why this patient needs future care and had a decrease in quality of life.
