Here is an interesting paper that discusses CAROTID ARTERY INJURY after a crash and raises the clinical question if we should do angiograms after trauma. This is a tough clinical decision to make as we want to start with a more conservative approach, yet trauma such as crashes, have shown to disrupt the vessels of the neck. The symptoms of this may be "unilateral neck pain". This is a "common symptom" after trauma that can respond well with conservative care. Unilateral neck pain can be a "sprain" or a vessel tear.
