Here is a very interesting paper that shows how once the facet joints are damaged, it can cause neurological consequences, including hyper- excitability and irritation of the CNS! Now, I have many papers, and videos on here showing how car crashes and trauma have been shown to damage the facet joints, and how this injury  can lead to neurological compromise.
