Hair Loss after a TRAUMA?

Published October 26, 2018

Hello Professionally Integrated,
I wanted to share with you a condition I have seen in my practice a few times. This has occurred after a trauma. It is called, "Telogen effluvium", Telogen effluvium is a form of temporary hair loss that usually happens after stress, a shock, or a traumatic event. It usually occurs on the top of the scalp.
After a patient has a trauma, you may want to look and ask as in my experience, my patients do not want to tell me as they are embarrassed. Be sure to document it and take pictures for their file . . .
